A C-Category Instructors Rating is the minimum qualification required to be employed as a Flight Instructor. Ardmore Helicopters will tailor a training course to teach you all the practical and theoretical skills required to achieve your C-Category Instructors Rating.

Eligibility
›   Class 1 Aviation Medical
›   Commercial Pilots Licence
›   Instructional Techniques course (4-days)

In addition to the above requirements, you must also have the following flight experience:
›   Total Flight Time                                            200 hours
›   Pilot in Command Time                                150 hours
›   Total Instrument                                             7 hours (including 5 hours dual)
›   Total Cross Country                                       40 hours
›   Total Pilot in Command Sling Load            10 hours
›   Total Pilot in Command Mountain              10 hours

Ardmore Helicopters’ experienced instructors can help you achieve the above flight experience if you don’t yet have these hours.

Theory
Ardmore Helicopters Ltd offers comprehensive full time and part time theory courses. Instructors Rating courses are conducted on a one-on-one basis to maximize learning and include instruction on the following:

›   Pre-Flight Briefing Techniques
›   Composing Lesson Plans
›   Helicopter Principles of Flight
›   Helicopter Technical Knowledge
›   Aviation Law
›   Navigation
›   Meteorology
›   Human Factors

Practical
CAA Rules require an applicant for the issue of a C-Category Instructors Rating to complete at least 25 hours dual flight instructor training.  Your Instructor Training will include the following:
›   Circuit Procedures
›   Emergency Procedures
›   Navigation
›   Mountain Operations
›   Sling Operations
›   Night Instructing Privileges (optional)

Flight Time
›   25 hours dual Instructional Techniques practical flight instruction course.

Course Length
At Ardmore Helicopters Ltd the theory and practical training programmes are tailored to meet individual needs and constraints. You could expect to achieve your Instructor’s Rating within one to three months.
